How does the online hearing test work?
The Danalogic online hearing test is designed to help you check your hearing and identify potential difficulties with understanding speech in noisy environments.
The test is completely free and can be completed at home using your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
For the most accurate results:
- Find a quiet area where you can complete the hearing test without interruptions.
- When you start the test, you’ll be asked to enter your age and gender and check that your audio settings are correctly adjusted.
- Choose whether you would like to use your device, speakers, or headphones. We recommend using headphones for the most accurate results, as they allow each ear to be assessed individually.
- Ensure the volume is switched on and set at a comfortable listening level.
- During the test, you will hear different combinations of words and numbers presented alongside varying levels of background noise.
- Select the words or numbers you hear using the options displayed on screen.
- If you miss part of a sequence, you can replay the most recent combination and continue the test.
- If you are using headphones, the assessment may test both your right and left ears separately.
- If you wear hearing aids, we recommend removing them before taking the test unless advised otherwise by your hearing care professional.
Are online hearing tests accurate?
The Danalogic online hearing test can provide a useful indication of whether you may be experiencing hearing loss and is a helpful first step towards understanding your hearing health.
However, an online hearing test is a screening tool and should not be considered a medical diagnosis. Factors such as background noise, device settings, and headphone quality can influence results.
